Patrol is the backbone of the Henderson Police Department. As a patrol officer, you take on various roles, not just as a first responder. You have the opportunity to investigate your own cases, write warrants, and follow them through. In this role, you become the face of our department and a hero to many in the community, providing invaluable service and embodying the values of Honor, Professionalism, and Dedication. “HPD”
Patrol is the backbone of the Henderson Police Department. As a patrol officer, you take on various roles, not just as a first responder. The patrol division comprises three area commands—East, North, and Central—with a West division coming soon. As a patrol officer, you will enhance your skills to better serve your community. Your daily responsibilities will include not only responding to call for service but also:
- Processing crime scenes, including photography and fingerprint recovery
- Investigating DUI’s and writing DUI search warrants
- Obtaining cell phone search warrants
- Issuing grand jury subpoenas and administrative subpoenas
- Conducting photo lineups
- Submitting affidavits for warrants
Taking initial reports for various incidents such as:
- Accidents
- Child abuse investigations
- Fraud investigations
- Sexual assault reports
- Death investigations
- Domestic battery
- Robbery
- Stolen vehicles
- Handling the entry and recovery of stolen vehicles
- Managing missing or endangered persons cases and distributing flyers
- Conducting follow-ups on cases
